Hopefully I can reply at least by the weekend, if I don’t reply sometime before then…. If anyone wants to start up a roleplay message me and I will get back to you when I reply to everyone :). Off to bed for me, night everyone!
William looked up at the sky, rather interested in the weather. He wondered where she was from, but he didn’t want to ask. It could be private information and they had only met. He wasn’t sure how to interact with everyone, so he gave himself time to think. William would have to grow use to speaking with a variety of people if he wanted to work within the Ministry or even in Hogwarts. He may as well begin now and break the outer wall that had been protecting him all these years.
“I have two favorite classes.” A smile appeared on his face as he thought about it. “Charms and Potions. I like learning and those classes… Challenge me, especially Potions.” He fell silent, his expression rather quizzical. “Yes, those two classes. What are your favorites? That is, if you have more than one.” The smile appeared again. She was a kind person and was rather easy to speak to.
Emily looked at the boy curiously, a small smile etched on her face. She liked talking to him, it almost seemed natural. She nodded slowly as he spoke, listening to his every word. ”I like charms too, as well as Defense Against the Dark Arts.” She told him. She didn’t often tell people that one of her favorite classes was Defense Against the Dark Arts. She was terrified that they would all laugh at her, because she seemed so shy and almost afraid all the time. She sighed heavily, wondering if he was going to laugh at her. It was unlike Emily to love such a dangerous class, but for some reason it excited her. ”I mean, I know it seems strange seeing as I’m, well me.” She said as she shrugged her shoulders. ”Now potions, its okay but Professor Snape bothers me a bit.” she said, laughing softly.
“I’m Lavender.” Lavender introduced herself to Emily. “It’s wonderful to meet you! Are you a… Fourth year?” She guessed, brushing back a stray hair or two away from her eyes before shutting the portrait, who was complaining quite loudly at being ignored like that.
“Yes, I am!” Lavender grinned, before sighing. “I’m sorry for not remembering you, I seem to not remember people in my year very well.” With an exception of a few- she thought silently to herself. “Do we have classes together?” She asked her, surprised she hadn’t noticed Emily in the dorm room- or maybe she had. She couldn’t quite place the other girl at the moment.
Emily smiled softly at the girl in front of her. ”It’s okay, I not a very loud persona and tend to keep to myself sometimes.” She said. It was true of course, it wasn’t that she didn’t want to be friends with girls her age, she just wasn’t good at starting conversations. Emily nodded her head slowly, “Yes we do.” She told Lavender. ”Um, I think we have potions and charms together.” She finished saying. She thought for a few moments before speaking again. She liked talking to Lavender, it had been awhile since she had talked to someone her own age. ”Do you have a favorite class?” She asked.
“I’m Lavender.” Lavender introduced herself to Emily. “It’s wonderful to meet you! Are you a… Fourth year?” She guessed, brushing back a stray hair or two away from her eyes before shutting the portrait, who was complaining quite loudly at being ignored like that.
Emily smiled, “Nice to meet you to Lavender.” She said. She shook her head from side to side slowly. ”No, I’m actually in Fifth year.” She told her. It didn’t surprise her that Lavender didn’t know her, or that they were in same year. Emily was quite and shy, which made her often over looked. ”Your in fifth year as well?” she asked Lavender. She tried to not listen to the fat lady whining, sadly Gryffindor students grow used to it.
Lavender sighed and laid out across a bench in the Gryffindor, resting the book she had been reading on her chest. It was so boring, reading about D.A.D.A. She had always liked how the class was so hands on, but this… She groaned as she pushed herself up into a sitting position, deciding she had had enough of this book and studying in general for the night. Perhaps she’d play some wizards chess with Parvati, or read the latest Witch Weekly. Either way, she was tired of schoolwork.
Pushing herself off the bench, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath- surprised by how empty the common room was. Of course, that was probably because most people were headed down to the Great Hall for dinner or something of that sort. Heading to the portrait of the fat lady, she pushed it open- not realizing that another student was on the other side until the portrait shrieked and suddenly stopped, indicating it had hit something or someone.
“Are you okay?!” Lavender asked, jumping down from the portraits opening to find a fellow Gryffindor 5th year student.
Lavender smiled, bemused as she offered a hand to Emily in hopes of helping her up. “That’s good to hear~ I’d feel awful if I had seriously hurt you. Of course, I’m sure Madame Pomfrey could help you if it had been something serious.” She commented, taking a step back to brace herself so she was ready to pull the girl up.
Emily took the girls hand and used her as leverage to get up. She shook the dirt off of her clothes, smiling at the girl. ”Thanks.” She said to the girl. ”Your right, I’m sure there isn’t a major injury that Madam Pomfrey can’t fix.” She continued. She slowly began to feel better, but still knowing she would be sore in the morning. Even though this girl was a Gryffindor, Emily didn’t know who she was. She had seen her around the common room and in classes but she had never really crossed paths with her. ”I’m Emily.” She told the girl.
There was an awkward silence between them. That moment felt like eternity. William could feel his nerves growing and he honestly thought he would have panicked if neither of them uttered a word. Luckily, Emily had began to talk. Not wanting to interrupt, William turned his head and watched her carefully. He had seen her around the school and even in the Great Hall for meal times. He also remembered her from their lessons.
“It is nice out.” William agreed, the corners of his mouth beginning to twitch upwards. “I hope it’s like this for the weekend. It would be nice to sit out here for studying.” He nodded his head, now wondering what the weekend will be like. “I’m William.”
In a polite manner, William held his hand out for her to shake. Not everyone shook hands in greetings, but the polite upbringing was stuck to William. If his mother had found out that William hadn’t greeted himself properly, he knew he would receive a long lecture. His mother was a bit old-fashioned and disliked today’s time. His father, however, held no care for the changing time. The smile on William’s face began to grow.
Emily smiled brightly and nodded. ”I love the sun but sadly we don’t get much of it where I’m from.” She told him, shrugging her shoulders. She lived in London and it often rained there, but when the chance came around for her to step foot in the sun she made it count. She took his and shook it slowly. ”Nice to meet you William.” She said. It wasn’t often that Emily found a boy that still had manors. Often in this day and age everyone was so fast paced that they forgot about little things like that. It was refreshing to see someone actually introduce themselves with a handshake. She smiled at him, deciding what else to say. ”Um, so whats your favorite class?” she asked him, her voice softer than usual. She tried to be confident, but she was never one of those girls who always knew what to say. She tried to be but ultimately her nerves got the best of her every time.

It was a nice day to sit outside, so William had left the safe surroundings of the Ravenclaw common room. He had picked up his bag and began to walk out. He spotted a couple of students ahead of him. He looked away, since he didn’t want to interrupt their conversation, which didn’t seem intriguing to William. Soon, he managed to reach his destination, the outdoors. The students were still ahead of him and he hoped they didn’t think William was following them. However, they didn’t seem to notice that he was even behind them. So, he stopped at the doors and allowed the two people to walk by a girl who was sitting on a stone bench. William raised his brows and had noticed that she looked like she was thinking. Was she going to stand? Curious, William stepped out and glanced around. He could go sit on the grass field, but the girl… She was sitting alone.
Ever since he spoke to Pansy and Lavender, William had found himself picking up more courage. It was the exact courage he needed. He took a deep breath and walked over to the girl. “Mind if I sit here?” William asked, rather hopefully. “I mean, there.” He pointed to the free space on the bench. “Not where you’re sitting of course. That would be silly and rather horrible of me to ask for.” William chuckled, though it was rather forced. He sighed and shook his head. “Sorry, I’m not use to..” He trailed off and decided to sit down on the bench. In his head, William cursed at himself. He was awkward and now the girl was aware of it.
Emily shook her head side to side, regaining her sense of reality. She snapped back to the present moment when she heard someone speak to her. She looked up slowly to see a boy standing in front of her. She smiled softly but felt ridiculous for doing so. She nodded slowly, beginning to move over more so that he would have some room. She laughed softly at his awkward joke and surprisingly thought it was adorable. But she hid that fact well. This is what she wanted, someone to speak to her but now she wasn’t sure what to even say. ”Um, hi.” She finally said. ’Stupid’ she thought to herself. After a few moments, she tried to regain the courage to speak again. ”It would have been fine if you did want my seat, but its nice of you to not ask for it.” She said, her mouth growing into a small smile. ”I’m usually gone by this time anyway, but it’s just so nice out today.” She continued. She turned toward him, getting a better look at him. ”I’m Emily, by the way.”
Emily sat in the great hall, eating her dinner. She had gotten their earlier than usual so that she would have time to study before bed. She sat there and listened to people talk around her, occasionally laughing at their words. After finishing her dinner she decided to return to the common room. She got up off the bench and grabbed her books that were beside her. She hugged them closely to her body and began to walk towards the corridor. There weren’t many people around because most of the students were eating at that moment. So all Emily could really hear was the sound of her footsteps as they hit the stone floor. She walked quickly up the constantly moving staircases. She walked up to the fat lady, getting ready to say the newest password. As she opened her mouth to speak, the portrait opened up and hit her in the face. She only felt pain as she fell backwards, hitting her head on the stone floor. She opened her eyes slowly, wincing at the pain behind her head. At least she could move. She looked up and noticed a girl standing over her and speaking. Emily slowly raised up to a sitting position and rubbed the back of her head. She nodded slowly, “I guess so, nothing broken as far as I know.” She said, letting an embarrassed laugh escape her lips. ”Sorry for getting in your way,” she said, trying to make a joke. At least her humor was still intact.
